Obituary of Arthur G. Paul

Arthur G. Paul, Jr., age 91, the beloved husband of the late Sally R. (Greene) Paul, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Monday, January 1, 2018 at Middlesex Hospital in Middletown. Art had been a resident of Chesterfields Healthcare and was a longtime resident of Deep River. He was born in Providence, Rhode Island on September 1, 1926 the son of Arthur G. and Edith G. (Welt) Paul. Art proudly served his country in both the Central Europe and the European African Middle Eastern Campaigns during World War II as a member of the United States Army. He was a Production Planner at the former UARCO in Deep River for 31 years retiring in 1988. Art was an avid modeler of both ships and boats working in wood and plastic. He enjoyed reading and current events and served as President of the residence council at Chesterfields. Art was a member of the Faulk-Marcolini-Newman American Legion Post # 113 in Old Saybrook. He will remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Art is survived by his sons, Arthur G. Paul, III and his wife Maureen, of Westbrook, Edward Paul, and his wife Debbie, of Deep River, his daughter, Henrietta Tennyson, of Gainesville, Florida, his grandchildren, Paul Deming and his wife Angela, Jason Deming and his husband John, Joseph Paul and Michael Paul, Kathleen Stevenson and her husband Brad, and his five great-grandchildren, Eillie and Alex Deming, Luke and Penny Stevenson, and Mason Paul. Visitation will be held at the Robinson, Wright & Weymer Funeral Home on Sunday, January 21, 2018 from 2:00PM to 4:00PM. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Art's name may be made to the Faulk-Marcolini-Newman American Legion Post # 113, 113 Essex Road, Old Saybrook, CT 06475.
