Obituary of Barbara M. Wells

Barbara M. Wells, 81, of Chester, passed away on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at Middlesex Hospital in Middletown. She was the wife of the late Harry A. Wells. They were married in September of 1953 and Harry predeceased her on March 12, 1992. Barbara was born in Bridgeport on July 22, 1936 the daughter of William and Mildred (Jorgensen) Maxwell. They resided in Essex where she was instrumental in helping her husband grow his business, while also being a lively homemaker raising her seven children with a keen sense of humor. She is survived by her children, son, William Wells of Florida, daughters, Diana Wells of Florida, Linda Campbell and her husband Mark of Colorado, Susan Post and her husband Charles of Oakdale and Lisa Stratidis and her husband Evangelos of Essex. Barbara also leaves her thirteen grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. Besides her husband and parents she was predeceased by her son, Guy Wells, her daughter, Sandra J. Wells and her brother, Leonard Maxwell. The last years of Barbara's life was lived out at Chesterfields Health Care Center in Chester where she was loved and cared for by many. The family would like to thank the staff and volunteers at Chesterfields for caring for Barbara with dignity, dedication and grace throughout the years. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at 12:00PM at The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witness, 179 Grove Beach Rd. North in Westbrook. Burial will be held in the spring in the Fountain Hill Cemetery in Deep River.
