Obituary of John Cogan Murphy

John Cogan "Jack" Murphy Sr., passed away peacefully at home on Monday, January 29th. He was born February 14, 1925, the son of Albert and Mildred (Barske) Murphy. He served in World War II with the US Navy Sea-Bees earning multiple medals. He was predeceased by his four siblings, Robert, Albert (Bud), Patricia, and Mary. He had a long career at Jenkins Valves in NYC. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Helen (Montour), four children, John Cogan Jr, Laura (Timlin), Jacquie (Sheppard), and Maria (Barnum), as well as six grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, Feb. 2nd at 11:00AM at Saint Joseph's Church, 48 Middlesex Ave. in Chester. The rendering of Full Military Honors will follow at the church.
