So sorry for your loss. Bill was my neighbor when I was a kid.... Us kids were totally impressed when we saw Bill replace his defective auto muffler with a Minute Maid orange juice can and it worked.

To Marge and the Patten Clan,
I was very sorry to hear of Bill's (General Patten) as I called him, passing. Growing up in North Branford, I still have memories of him delivering mail to my Mom and Dad's store. He would pull through the driveway and honk the horn and someone would go out to get the mail from him. He always had a smile and a humorous statement to make. The world needs more people like Bill. He made it a better place to live in. May God's speed guide him home. Rich and Lita Onofrio

We will miss Bill terribly. We only live in Killingworth about 6 months a year but we (especially Joe) would see Bill almost every day. They spent hours in Bill's shed. Thursday afternoon was their dump ride just to look around. Bill always loved spring cleanup in the park as he & Joe would ride around to see what looked good. Bill always found some treasures. I think Marge would just raise her eyes when she saw what he brought home. RIP.

We have known Bill for almost 20 years as neighbors & friends. He visited us many times at our house (especially on Sundays in the summertime). Bill loved to tell stories and was very funny. He made us laugh many times over the years. Bill was very happy to help anyone out as a "handy man" (who had a lot of tools we could borrow, lol) and repairing bikes. We will miss him a lot. Our condolences to Marge & family.

We have so many great memories. Camping, picnics and riding bikes at Hammonesset and lunches at Doody's to name a few. To Marge and family, life will not be the same without him, but he had a good long life!!!

My deepest sympathy to all my cousins.
My fondest memory of Bill is the day he helped me and my dad choose two baby bunnies to bring home.
Wishing you all comfort at this sad time.

Many memories of great times in 4-H horse shows. Always loved being able to give it back when Bill would tease with me about what I was doing (or not doing). A huge heart disguised as a sometimes grumpy guy. So happy I was able to see him last summer. My condolences to the family

I've known Bill most all my 69 yrs and have always thought of him as my second father. He is one of the most fair and honest men I have ever known, hard when he needed to be, yet always loving. Safe travels "old man", safe travels. My thoughts are with my entire second family.

Sorry to hear of Uncle Bill's passing. I remember him as a very tall man who always had the best dry sense of humor. He and aunt Margie were role models as a loving couple for me and Michael. Hugs from Arizona
