Obituary of Helen Hofer Petzoldt

Helen Hofer Petzoldt of Old Saybrook CT passed away peacefully on February 13, 2018. She was born August 4, 1926 in Beaver Falls, NY. She spent her childhood there, where she met and married the love of her life, Edward Petzoldt. He predeceased her. Helen baked perfect apple pies and delicious brownies. Her fudge was matched by none. She embraced her roles in life as a wife, mother, grandmother and a secretary who could type 90 words a minute without a mistake! She is survived by her devoted daughter, son-in-law and grandsons, Barbara and Ray Koski (Old Lyme, CT), Ben (Erica) Koski (New York, NY) and Tom Koski (Boston, MA), as well as her son, Curt (Wendy) Petzoldt (Phelps, NY), and grandchildren Joe (Krystin) Petzoldt (Fairport, NY) and Jane Petzoldt (Geneva, NY). She is also survived by a special niece, Bethany Aust (Skaneateles, NY), who sent M&Ms regularly. Helen's sweet smile will be remembered by those who knew her. Arrangements are private.
