Obituary of Theodore J. Makowicki
Theodore J. Makowicki, 89, of Centerbrook, beloved husband of Jennie (Carfi) Makowicki passed away Tuesday April 12th at Shoreline Clinic in Essex. He was born in Norwich son of the late Michael and Aniela (Pietraczek) Makowicki. Theodore proudly served his country in WWII under General Patton in the Europeon Theatre and at the Battle of the Bulge. He was a lifetime resident of Centerbrook where he owned and operated Centerbrook TV Service until his retirement in 1984. Theodore was a parishioner of Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Essex and a member of the Knights of Columbus in Old Saybrook since 1955. In addition to his wife he is survived by his sons Paul Makowicki and his wife Margo of Seattle, WA and Thomas Makowicki and his wife Gretchen of Essex, his brother James Makowicki of Newtown, his sister Eleanor Pottie of Mystic, as well as his five grandchildren: Sarah, Tyler, Evan, Malia, and Simon. He was predeceased by 11 siblings: Stanley, Edward, Melvin, Richard, Mildred, Jenny, Frances, Estelle, Mary, Irene, and Isabella. Visitation will be Friday 9:30 to 10:30 am at Robinson, Wright & Weymer Funeral Home, 34 Main St. in Centerbrook. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, 14 Prospect St. in Essex. Interment will follow at Centerbrook Cemetery with Full Military Honors. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Theodore’s memory to the Knights of Columbus Council 2968, 161 Main St., Old Saybrook, CT 06475.
