Obituary of Budney J. Victor

Victor J. Budney, beloved husband of Catherine (Stopa) Budney, passed away on Thursday, March 10, 2011 at Middlesex Hospital. He was born in Ivoryton, on May 24, 1922 to the late Victor and Stella (Gutoski) Budney. He served in the US Navy in the South Pacific during WWII. He was the owner and operator of several businesses in Ivoryton, Centerbrook and Deep River for many years. He was an active member of the Deep River Fire Department, American Legion, VFW, and Westbrook Elks Club. Besides his wife, he leaves a daughter Marcia and son-in-law Randy Hartigan of Lady Lake, FL, a son James and his wife Betsy (Lott) Budney of Deep River, a grandson Steven Budney and his fiancée Stacey Anderson of Deep River, a great grandson Chase Budney, a brother Eugene and sister-in-law Patty (Kuchyt) Budney if Ivoryton, and 3 sisters-in-law: Genieva, Mary (Franny) of Deep River and Theresa Stopa of Centerbrook. Besides his parents he is predeceased by his stepmother Rose (Bury) Budney, sister Stella Budney, brother-in-law William Stopa, and sister-in-law Sophie Stopa. Visitation will be Wednesday, March 16th from 5-7 pm at Robinson, Wright & Weymer Funeral Home, 34 Main ST., Centerbrook. Friends and relatives are invited to a Graveside Service on Thursday, March 17th at 11 am at Resurrection Cemetery in Westbrook. In lieu of flowers contributions in his memory may be made to Deep River Fire Department 57 Union St., Deep River, CT 06417, Deep River Ambulance PO Box 274, Deep River, or to an organization of the donor’s choice.
