Obituary of Elizabeth A. Shumway

Elizabeth A. Shumway, age 93 of Westbrook, the beloved mother of Rosemary E. Einsmann passed away on Wednesday morning March 2nd at the Middlesex Hospital in Middletown. She was born in Brooklyn, New York the daughter of Frederick and Mary (Clark) Frank. She had been a resident of Westbrook for the past 30 years and was formerly of Brooklyn. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting and was an active participant at the Estuary Council of Senior Citizens in Old Saybrook and was also a communicant at Saint Mark the Evangelist Church in Westbrook. Besides her daughter Rosemary and her husband Philip she leaves five grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents and her seven siblings. Visitation will be held at the Robinson, Wright & Weymer Funeral Home, 34 Main Street in Centerbrook on Saturday morning, March 5th from 9:00AM to 10:30 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Saint Mark the Evangelist Church, 222 McVeagh Road in Westbrook at 11:00AM. Interment will be in the Cypress Hills Cemetery in Brooklyn, New York.
