Obituary of H. John Pappas

H. John Pappas, 66, beloved husband of Sandra Pappas, died February 23, 2011 after a prolonged illness. He grew up in East Rutherford, NJ and lived in Madison, NJ for over 30 years before moving to Old Saybrook, CT with Sandra in 2007. John achieved an undergraduate degree from Stevens Institute of Technology and a graduate degree from Columbia University in Mechanical Engineering. He was a long time employee of Ingersoll Rand and ITT Industries Goulds Pumps Division. He is survived by his wife and their three children and seven grandchildren: Beth Ann Franssen and her husband Todd; Eve Lynn Cassidy and her husband James; John Robert Pappas and his wife Jessica. John is also survived by his brother Richard J. Pappas and his wife Gina, two nieces: Jennifer Anderson and her husband Glenn; Carrie Moore and her husband Joseph; and nephew Michael Pappas. Visitation will be at the Robinson, Wright & Weymer Funeral Home, 34 Main Street, Centerbrook, CT from 4-8 pm on Friday, February 25th. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, February 26th at 11:00 am at St. John’s Episcopal Church, corner of Main and Cross Streets in Essex, CT. Burial will be private.
