Obituary of Sarah H Adams

Sarah (Hayes) Adams, 92, of Deep River, died on January 16, 2011 at Middlesex Hospice in Middletown. Sarah was the wife of the late Lester Adams who passed away in 1977. Born in Brooklyn, NY, she was the daughter of the late Edward & Catherine (Lynch) Hayes and had resided in Deep River since 1948. Sarah worked at the Deep River Library as the Assistant Librarian for 17 years, was a member of the Democratic Town Committee for many years as well as the Registrar of Voters in Deep River and Treasurer of F.I.S.H. Sarah is survived by her daughter Elizabeth and her husband William Becker of Charlestown, RI, her grandchildren Karl Becker of W. Hartford and Charles Becker of Austin, TX, a great granddaughter Isabella Becker, her sister Mary McLean of Manchester, CT. In addition to her husband Sarah was predeceased by her daughter Ellen M. Adams.A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph’s Church, Middlesex Tpk. on Thursday at 11am. Interment will follow at the parish cemetery. Memorial donations in Sarah’s name may be made to the Visiting Nurses of the Lower Valley, 61 Main St. ,Suite 5, Centerbrook, Ct 06409.
