Obituary of Rachel Ouellette

Rachel M. Ouellette, 40, of Westbrook, passed away Monday, May 16, 2011 at Yale New Haven Hospital after a sudden illness. Rachel was born in Middletown, the daughter of Lorraine (Bouchard) Ouellette of Westbrook and the late Reynold Ouellette. She was raised in Chester and Madawaska, ME and has been a resident of Westbrook since 1994. Rachel was employed at Parthenon Diner in Old Saybrook for the past 5 years and at Denny’s Restaurant in Westbrook prior to that. Her customers were important to her and she became involved in many of their lives. Rachel was very proud of her family, especially her son Ryan whom she raised as a single parent, to her he was number #1. Rachel was also an excellent caregiver to her mother. In addition to her mother and son she is survived by her sister Denise M. Hirsch of Moodus and Linda M. Gambardella of North Haven, nieces Melissa and Laura, nephews Joe, Brandon, and Codi, as well as many cousins. Visitation will be Sunday May 22nd from 2-4 pm at Robinson, Wright, & Weymer Funeral Home, 34 Main St in Centerbrook. Prayer service to follow at 4pm. Interment will be private at Fountain Hill Cemetery in Deep River. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Ouellette Family Fund c/o Linda Gambardella, 6 Beverly Dr, North Haven, CT 06473.
