Obituary of Shirley Cynar

Shirley Anne Cynar, 52, of Ellington passed away suddenly Thursday evening June 23rd at Rockville General Hospital. She was born in Middletown; daughter of the late John M. and Norma (Perreau) Cynar. After attending CT Culinary Institue Shirley embarked on a career as a chef; first as the owner of Whittlemore Thyme Catering in Ellington for 12 years and, most recently, as head chef at Gourmet Gallery Catering Co. in Stonington. She is survived by her former husband Andrew as well as her dogs Texas and Baby. At Shirley’s request services will be private.
