Obituary of Caroline K. Pagano
Caroline K. "Nonni" (Costa) Pagano, age 104, passed away peacefully at her home in Centerbrook on Wednesday morning, July 30, 2014. She was the beloved wife of the late Frank P. Pagano and loving mother of Nina Pagano and the late Frank N. Pagano. She was born in Forza D' Agro, Sicily to Joseph and Carmela (Lombardo) Costa on November 11, 1909. Caroline came to America via Ellis Island, New York in 1912 and has resided in Centerbrook since 1926. She married Frank P. Pagano at Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Essex on November 23, 1944. Frank and Caroline both beauticians, owned and operated Frank's Beauty Salon in Centerbrook. "Nonni" will be lovingly remembered for so many things, but mostly she is remembered for her garden, Sunday pasta, her love of music and her hard-working, never complaining attitude. In addition to her daughter Nina, she is survived by her daughter-in-law, Barbara Pagano, and her brother, Bennie Costa, all of Centerbrook. Her grandchildren, Paul Pagano, of Tallahassee, FL, Lainie Pagano Oto and her husband Garret, of Auburn, WA, Jennifer Chubbuck and her husband Michael of Clinton, Bruce Everett and his wife Christy of Fishers, IN., her great-grandchildren, Jacob Pagano, Gabrielle, Jonah and Kainoa Oto and Josh Everett. She also leaves a special family friend, JoAnn Albrecht and her family, as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews. The Pagano family gives special thanks to Mary Costa Vondeck for her loving care and kindness. JoAnn, "Thank-you for being a second daughter to Caroline". Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 2, 2014 at the Robinson, Wright & Weymer Funeral Home, 34 Main Street in Centerbrook from 9:00AM to 10:00AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30AM at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, 14 Prospect Street in Essex. Interment will follow in the Resurrection Cemetery, Route 145 in Westbrook. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Caroline's name to a charity of the donor's choice.
