Obituary of Margaret Mary Calamari

Calamari: Margaret Mary “Peg” Calamari, age 90, of Old Saybrook passed away peacefully Friday morning, August 19, 2011 at Essex Meadows Healthcare Center in Essex. She was the beloved wife of the late John Calamari. She was born in Waterbury, the daughter of the late Lewis E. and Catherine (Murray) Dwyer. Peg was a resident of Old Saybrook for the last eight years and had formerly resided in Essex for over fifty years. She was a communicant at Saint John’s Church in Old Saybrook. Peg is survived by her step-children, Paul Calamari, of Savannah, Georgia and Sylvia Nucci of Jupiter, Florida, her brothers; Francis S. and James M. Dwyer of Old Saybrook, and several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband John who passed away in 1990 she was predeceased by her first husband, Joseph Purcell in 1958, and her step-children, Michael Calamari and Roberta Lindner. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, August 22, 2011 at 10:00AM at Saint John’s Church, 161 Main Street in Old Saybrook. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery in Westbrook. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made in her name to Saint John’s Church, 161 Main Street, Old Saybrook, CT 06475.
