Obituary of Alexandra M. Roschko

Alexandra M. Roschko, age 92 of Chester, passed away Friday, August 1, 2014 at Middlesex Hospital in Middletown. She was the beloved mother of Daniel Roschko of Chester. Alexandra was born in Ukraine on September 9, 1921 and came to America via Ellis Island, New York in 1951. She resided briefly in Moodus, until making her home in Chester. She worked in manufacturing at both the M.S. Brooks & Sons in Chester and retired in 1985 from Norelco in Essex. Alexandra enjoyed many things and had many interests. She had a great love of gardening, tending to her flowers and vegetables, and sharing them with friends and neighbors, caring for her many animals; cats, dogs, chickens, geese and rabbits. She also loved needlepoint, cooking traditional foods, and caring for her home. She will be remembered for her smile, boundless energy and her genuine kindness to all. Besides her son Dan, she leaves Jenna, Trevor, Kimberly, and Peter Tiezzi, and a community that truly loved her. Alexandra was pre-deceased by her son, Leonid "Louie" Roschko who passed away on October 2, 1994. Visitation will be held Tuesday, August 5, 2014 from 5:00PM to 7:00PM at Robinson, Wright & Weymer Funeral Home, 34 Main Street in Centerbrook. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, August 6, 2014 at 11:00AM at the Fountain Hill Cemetery, High Street in Deep River.
