Obituary of Merrill Faircloth

Merrill N. Faircloth, age 82 of Chester passed away on Sunday afternoon, October 16th at Chesterfields Healthcare Center in Chester. He was the beloved husband of Mary (Kopera) Faircloth of Chester. He was born in Middletown, CT on February 26, 1929 the son of the late Paul and Pearl Lucretia (Cook) Faircloth. Merrill was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He was an Inspector at Pratt & Whitney Aircraft and retired in 1989 following twenty years of service. He was a family man who enjoyed dancing, history, reading, softball and Misquamicut Beach. Besides his loving wife Mary he is survived by his son Merrill "MJ" J. Faircloth of Chester, his daughter, Mary F. Ingram of Clinton, his granddaughter, Shannon M. Faircloth, of Beacon Falls, grandsons, Erik M. and Nicholas P. Judkins both of Naugatuck, brother, Alfred Faircloth, of East Haddam and his sister, Virginia Gage of South Carolina. His funeral service will be held at the First Church of Christ, Congregational, 499 Town Street, East Haddam on Saturday, October 22, 2011 at 10:30am. Burial with full military honors will follow in the First Church of Christ, Congregational Cemetery.
