Obituary of Rosemarie C. Smith

Rosemarie C. Smith of Deep River passed away at the Middlesex Medical Center at Shoreline in Essex on Monday morning, November 21, 2011. She was the beloved wife of the late Darrel Smith. Rosemarie was born in Krausenbach, Germany on January 27, 1931 the daughter of the late Karl and Johana (Kress) Englert. She was a home healthcare provider caring for residents in the communities of Old Saybrook and Essex retiring in 1990. Rosemarie was a communicant of Saint Joseph's Church in Chester. She loved to shop and in her younger years enjoyed dancing, was always an avid reader and very much enjoyed her winter home in Palm City, Florida. She leaves her two sons, Kevin M. and his wife Martha Smith of Chester and Brian Smith of Deep River, brothers, William Englert of Deep River, and Fritz and Alfred Englert both of Germany, and many nieces and nephews. Besides her husband Darrel who passed away in 2005 she was predeceased by her son Duane P. Smith and her sister Elfriede Amreihn. Visitation will be held at the Robinson, Wright & Weymer Funeral Home, 34 Main Street in Centerbrook on Friday, November 25th from 10:00am to 11:30am. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Saint Joseph's Church, 48 Middlesex Ave. in Chester at 12:00pm. Burial will follow in the Fountain Hill Cemetery in Deep River.
