Obituary of Irene Schwab

Irene Schwab, age 91 of Westbrook and formerly of Essex and Killingworth passed away unexpectedly at the Shoreline Medical Center in Essex on Monday evening, December 5, 2011. Irene she was the beloved wife of the late Howard T. Schwab, Sr. She was born in Bridgeport on August 28, 1920 the daughter of the late Frank J. and Delia Margaret (Ryle) Carr. She attended Essex schools. She had been a resident of Westbrook since 1993 and was a member Women's Auxiliary of the Faulk Marcoline American Legion Post #113 in Old Saybrook and the Veterans of Foreign War Post # 6726 of Centerbrook and the Veterans of Foreign War Post in Sebastian, Florida. She is survived by her son, Howard T. Schwab, Jr. of Westbrook, daughters, Patricia Handel of Westbrook and Nancy Moriarty of Ipswich, MA, grandchildren, Jessica Way, Christina Hall, and John and William Moriarty. She also leaves her six beloved great-grandchildren. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Mary V. Strong . Private burial will be made in the family lot in the Parker Hill Cemetery in Killingworth
