Obituary of Helen Mucha Czepiel
Helen (Mucha) Czepiel, 92, a life long resident of Deep River passed away Wednesday morning, January 4th at Chesterfields Healthcare Center in Chester, she was the beloved wife of the late Joseph J. Czepiel. She was born in Deep River on March 31, 1919 the daughter of John and Mary (Golec) Mucha. Helen was an inspector for the Monsanto Company in Deep River for many years retiring in 1981. She also worked at Deep River Convalescent Home and volunteered at Chesterfields in Chester. Helen was a communicant at Saint Joseph's Church in Chester and was an avid gardener. She is survived by her children, Richard A. Czepiel and his wife Maria of Deep River, Joseph J. Czepiel, Jr. and his wife Eva of Leland, NC, Peter D. Czepiel and his wife Denise, of East Haddam and her daughter, Patricia M. Czepiel of Deep River. She also leaves her beloved grandchildren, Peter P. Czepiel of Deep River, Tina Pisciotti, of East Haddam, Matthew Czepiel of Westbrook, and MaryAnn Czepiel of Penn Yan, NY, two great-granddaughters and two great-grandsons. Helen was predeceased by her brothers, Joseph, Stephen, John, Stanley, Philip, and her sister, Stephanie Warner. The family would like to thank the staff at Chesterfields for the wonderful care Helen received. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 6th at the Robinson, Wright & Weymer Funeral Home, 34 Main Street in Centerbrook, from 5:00 to 7:00pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, January 7th at 10:00am at Saint Joseph's Church 48 Middlesex Turnpike in Chester. Burial will follow in Saint Joseph's Cemetery.
