Obituary of Elizabeth Kasimir

Elizabeth Maria "Liesa" Kasimir, age 80, of Centerbrook passed away on Friday, May11th at Middlesex Hospital in Middletown. Liesa was the beloved wife of the late Jacob Kasimir who passed away on March 11, 2009. She was born in Charleville, Yugoslavia on March 18, 1932 the daughter of Josef and Anna (Maier) Grossmann. In 1952 she and Jacob immigrated to the United States from Germany. Liesa has been a resident of Centerbrook since 1964 and was well known and liked by many in the community, she will truly be missed. She loved to cook and especially bake. Liesa was a communicant of Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Essex. She is survived by her sons, Joseph P. Kasimir, of Centerbrook, and Nicholas J. Kasimir, of Westbrook, her grandchildren, Amanda Nicole Kasimir, of Madison, Erica Kasimir, of Chester, Jakob Kasimir, of Chester, and Gage Kasimir, of Westbrook. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, May 17th at 10:00AM. at Our Lady of Sorrows Church,14 Prospect Street in Essex. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Visiting Nurses of the Lower Valley Inc. 61 Main Street, Suite 5, Centerbrook, CT 06409.
