Obituary of Rosemarie Schmelzer

Rosemarie Schmelzer age 78, of Deep River passed away on Sunday May 20th 2012 at Middlesex Hospital in Middletown surrounded by her family. She was born in New York City, New York the only child to Erwin and Theresa (Rouh) Buck. She was married on June 6th 1954 to George V. Schmelzer. Rose was an amazing homemaker and cook, no one ever left Rose's home hungry or without feeling loved or cared for. She had a flare for decorating her home to make it so warm and inviting. Rose was a long time member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Centerbrook where she enjoyed helping with the soup kitchen. Along with her husband, she loved going to the monthly meetings of the "Young at Heart" group. Besides her beloved husband George, she is survived by her son Ronald Schmelzer and his wife Maria of Deep River, and her daughter Catherine (Schmelzer) Troncoso and her husband Jack of Ivoryton. She also leaves her five grandchildren, Dennis Schmelzer, Robert Schmelzer, Jenna Troncoso-Good, Steven Schmelzer and Christina Troncoso, and her seven great- grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 24th from 5:00PM to 7:00PM at the Robinson, Wright & Weymer Funeral Home, 34 Main Street in Centerbrook. Funeral services will be held at the Trinity Lutheran Church, 109 Main Street in Centerbrook on Friday, May 25th at 11:00AM with burial following in the Fountain Hill Cemetery, High Street in Deep River.
