I only visited with Richard twice, each time as he gave a wonderful tour of the gardens he was creating for Bob Chester and Nancy Larson at their home. Richard was such a kind and peaceful person, bringing beauty, painting with flowers. He told me of his service in Korea, and asked that I thank our son for his Army service. I wanted you to know how gently and deeply Richard touched the hearts of others.
Richard and I marched alongside each other in numerous parades and celebrations. I will always remember thatwhen i saw him in the Sailing Masters uniform he portrayed to me the true appearance of a Sailing Master of 1812, probably from his U.S.Marines experience.
When you meet up with Harold Ek make sure you play Olde Dan Tucker with him!
Goodbye Old friend, until we meet again!
Lynn, so sorry to hear about Richard we know
how close you two were it is going to be a great
loss for you. Take comfort in the fact that you now have an angel in heave looking down on you. Our love goes out to you.
We remember many drum corps events- Fishers Island with its boisterous ferry rides-Westbrook musters with the table set up with the punch bowl candles. And flowers and Frank Davis Resorts doing the Spirit of 76 and theGelston House Beer Garden after. Drum on dear friend 'eSKeZ
