Obituary of Sybil Johnson

Sybil (Brown) Johnson, 80 of Ivoryton died on Saturday June 2, 2012 at Gladeview Convalescent Home in Old Saybrook. Beloved wife of Robert S. Johnson to whom she was married for 60 years. She was born in Gateshead, England, daughter of the late John & Alice (Lewis) Brown and emigrated to the U.S. in 1965 with her husband. Sybil was a longtime member of the First Congregational Church of Essex and will be deeply missed. In addition to her husband she is survived by her children; Ian M. Johnson of Old Saybrook, Paul S. Johnson of Old Lyme & Susan Christopher and her husband Richard of Essex, her sister-in-law Sheila Brown of England, her niece Anne Carlisle and her husband Malcolm of England, grandchildren; Sean, Nicole and Heather and a great grandson Michael. Sybil was predeceased by her brother George Brown. Memorial Services will be held at the First Congregational Church, Methodist Hill Rd. Essex on Saturday June 9th at 11am. Reception to follow.
