Obituary of Theresa I. Scarpini
Theresa I. Scarpini, age 96, a lifelong resident of Chester died on September 3, 2014 at Aaron Manor Nursing Home after a period of declining health. Theresa was born in Chester, daughter of the late John & Rose (Carini) Scarpini, she was a 1938 graduate of Chester High School and a 1939 graduate of the Boston School of Domestic Science, for many years she worked as a dietician at Lawrence & Memorial Hospital, and was also employed at Cramer's and Pratt Read Co. Theresa was a devout parishioner of St. Joseph's Church, serving on the Altar Society and Ladies Guild, she was an avid New York Yankee fan, enjoyed crocheting, growing vegetables, canning and those family times and events that she loved very much. She is survived by her nieces, Maryann Scarpini of Cromwell, Dottie Scarpini of Moodus, great nieces Dawn Sullivan and her husband Brendan of Dover, NH, Jill Duarte and her husband Julio of Avon, a great nephew John Scarpini of Moodus, her cousins Michael Berdensey of Chester, Larry Berdensey of Gales Ferry, Corkey Bishop of Old Saybrook and one great great nephew. A special thank you to Theresa's friends that meant so much to her and gave their time; Maria Shumbow, Sylvia Nucci, Tracy Zanardi and to the entire staff at Aaron Manor for the wonderful care they gave to Theresa these past years. In addition to her parents Theresa was predeceased by her brother Frank Scarpini. Her Mass of Christian Burial will held at St. Joseph's Church, Middlesex Ave., Chester on Saturday, 12 noon. Interment will follow in the family lot at St. Joseph's Cemetery. Donations may be made in Theresa's memory to either the Chester Hose Company or to St. Joseph's Church.
