Obituary of Jane T. Fuller

Jane T. Fuller, a long time resident of the Ivoryton area, died on August 11, 2012 from complications after a long battle with Dermatomyositis. She was 71. Jane's longtime companion, John Parker, has been by her side through her struggle with this disease.Jane was devoted to her family, friends, church, and community. She was a founding member of the Ivoryton Village Gardeners and a member of the Essex Historical Society. She was devoted to her work for the First Congregational Church in Essex and the Ivoryton Playhouse. Jane was a coach for many years and refereed field hockey and basketball at the high school and college level. She was a graduate of Dana Hall School in Wellesley, MA, Skidmore College in Saratoga, NY, and received her Masters degree from East Stroudsburg State College in Pennsylvania .Jane is survived by her caring daughters, Jennifer Nickel, her husband, Jack, and sons Samuel and Maxwell from Deep River; Betsy Fuller Matambanadzo, her husband, Evans, and son, Dzikamayi from Brooklyn, NY. She is also survived by her two, loving brothers, Thomas Turton, his wife, Catherine Turton from Tampa, Florida and Arthur Turton, and his wife, Pamela Turton of Williamstown, MA. She leaves a number of nieces and nephews with whom she shared many special moments. Her former husband, James M. Fuller and his wife Marge, continued to have a supportive role in her life. Visiting hours for Jane will be held on Tuesday, August 14th at the Robinson Wright & Weymer Funeral Home, 34 Main St. Centerbrook from 5-7pm. Funeral Services will be on Wednesday at the First Congregational Church, 6 Methodist Hill in Essex at 11am. Interment will be private.
