Obituary of Eva R. Darcy

Eva R.(Poirier) Darcy, 90, of Deep River, CT, died on Sunday August 27, 2012 at Yale New Haven Hospital. She is survived by her sons James of Deep River, William of Ashford, CT, Robert of Douglas, MA and Thomas of Hadlyme, CT as well as numerous grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband John and daughter Sandra .Eva was born in Southbridge, MA and worked at the American Optical Company in that town during WWII making goggles and optical equipment for our brave fighting men. Thereafter she married John, an Army veteran, shortly after the war. Together they raised five children in Southbridge and then Deep River, CT. Eva was known for her optimistic outlook and zest for life. Late in life she was active with senior citizens in the valley shore area .A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, August 31st at St. Joseph's Church in Chester, CT at 12 noon, followed by interment at Fountain Hill Cemetery in Deep River. Visiting hours will be at the Robinson, Wright & Weymer Funeral Home, 34 Main St., Centerbrook, CT on Thursday, August 30th from 5-7 PM.
