A wonderful, kind and thoughtful man. He shared his “sky box” Penn State seats with me for numerous games and helped influence my son to go to PSU. A great guy.

Ken was an extraordinary person and a blessing to all who were lucky enough to know him. As each of these tributes confirms - and as I recently said to my sister - with Ken it was never about Ken. It was always about what he could do for others - and he did so with the utmost generosity, kindness and humility. I feel blessed and privileged to have known him, and so grateful that he and my mother shared so many wonderful years together. We will all dearly miss him.

Ken was truly one of my most influential role models growing up. His genuine interest in my sisters and I was always evident and he was constantly smiling and in high spirits. I always thought of him as an unsung hero, perhaps because he never sought the limelight, but I know he impacted countless lives in immeasurable ways. He definitely shaped mine in ways that I can't put in words. From visiting a preserved submarine, to playing shuffleboard, to just sitting around talking about sports and other topics of interest, I will cherish the memories that I have with Ken. I will dearly miss this special human being, but I am comforted knowing that his legacy and impact continue to resonate with those who were fortunate enough to know Ken Carson.

I was blessed to have Ken in my life. He was like a grandfather to me, and so very dear to my grandmother and to our family. I will always remember his generous spirit, his genuine interest in our lives and accomplishments and the enthusiasm and encouragement he provided, and that wonderful, quiet, knowing smile. He is always in my heart.

I am so grateful to Uncle Ken for his generosity. Especially during my teen years. Ken and Elaine took me into their home, providing a stable foundation and a platform to build upon. Ken was very unselfish in offering his time and advice over the last few years. Numerous times I called on him for advice on employment and business decisions; as well as everyday life situations. I will miss not having the go-to guy to get a different angle on things. A great person. He will be missed greatly.

My wife and I want to extend our deepest sympathy to Ken's family and friends. I met Ken in 1975 as I was providing executive search services to the
Aetna Insurance Company and he was directing all senior level search engagements. In l978, I established my own firm with Ken providing me with encouragement, support, professional guidance, ethics, and above all his total committment to me. What that translates into is that there would not have been a J. P. James and Co. if there were no Ken Carson. How do you go about thanking someone like he since he never sought a thank you. I thanked him repeatedly for his undivided support, yet he always responded that he didn't do anything but rather my success was a function of my efforts. He never acknowledged that he was the one and only one who remained committed to me from day one. Of all of my client envolvement over 35 years, my working relationship with Ken was by far the highlight of my life. His professionalism, dedication to doing the right thing, his moral and ethical code, his knowledge of corporate america and more specifically the insurance community, his reliance on me to perform with only the highest degree of excellence are qualities that I not only admired but found throughout my career no equal. Yes, we will all miss Ken dearly, but to his family and friends I just want you to totally appreciate that in the would of work, here was a man who maintained the highest principles, who sought to understand and deal with great sensitivity complex human issues and who never sought the spotlight within the corporate setting for his personal benefit. Yes Ken will be very much missed. Receiving his annual Thanksgiving card was the start of our Chistmas season and it was always followed by my calling him and reminising about Little Aetna and Penn
State. Yes he will be dearly missed and I can only thank God for allowing Ken Carson to come into my life. jim

The Paw was a one of a kind grandfather. I look back at all of the many wonderful things he did during my childhood; letters from Santa and Chuck Roast, postcards from his various travels, which continued all the way into my adulthood. The love and support he provided to friends and family was unwavering. I loved him so much. He will truly be missed.

While I only had the opportunity of meeting Ken in person once, I had the pleasure of corresponding with him over the last 17 years.
Ken was my beloved step-dad, Donald Lee Carson's, brother. When my step-dad had a heart attack, Ken flew down to Houston to be with our family. He was such a kind person and it meant so much to have him there with us. I always felt a closeness to my late step-dad because of my continued friendship with Ken (and Jean). He wrote wonderful letters, always about his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren and about his travels with Jean. I know he will be missed.
I know he also stayed in touch with his nieces and nephew, Leigh Ann, Donnie, and Leslie which I'm sure meant alot to them.
My deepest sympathies to you all.
