Obituary of Kenneth H. Hiscocks

Hiscocks, Kenneth, 82, of Deep River, passed away peacefully on December 3, 2012, at his home. He was the beloved husband of Joan (Gedge) Hiscocks for 59 years. He was born in Ontario, Canada, April 24, 1930, to Alfred and Lilia (Biggs) Hiscocks. Ken and Joan immigrated to the United States in 1968 to San Mateo, CA, where they lived for three years, then moved to Deep River where they resided for 40 years. Ken was a printer from the age of 16 until his retirement. Those who were fortunate to have spent time with Ken were always in for a good laugh and enjoyable time. His laid back personality and warm smile put those who knew him - and those who didn't - at ease. He was very thoughtful of others and treaded lightly on this earth. He loved nature, animals, food programs on television, old movies, horse racing and going to the casino with Joan. Besides his wife, he leaves his loving sons, David and his companion Carolyn of Glastonbury, Paul and his wife Judy of Veneta OR, his sister-in-law May Hiscocks of Etobicoke, Ontario, Canada, his grandchildren, Trevor of Portland OR, Lesley & Jason Wilson of Roseburg, OR, three great grandchildren, a niece and several nephews and their families. He was predeceased by his sister Queenie, and brother Lesley. The family gives special thanks to Evelyn and Joanie at Middlesex Hospice Care. A graveside service for family and close friends will take place on Wednesday, December 12th at 11:00 a.m. at the Fountain Hill Cemetery, High Street in Deep River.
