Priscilla and family,
I was very sorry to read of Bud's passing. For those of us that grew up in Essex, Essex has lost an icon. One of my fond memories was looking out my bedroom window on North Main St. after hearing the distinct sound of a Model A coming up the street. It was either Bud or Will. I always looked in awe of Bud in his original WWII uniform when I couldn't even fit into my original Vietnam uniform...s most of us can't. Fair weather Bud and fly on.

So many of my happiest memories of the lastt 47 years revolve around the Lovell family and Essex. It is these memories of Bud & his family that comfort me in the news of his death. I pray that the memory of him and his very special being will be a comfort to all who love him. Harvey Houseboat

I will always remember his bright eyes, big loving smile, affectionate nature, and the great stories he passed along of my family- the Lovell family.
Bud, I came to know you as a boy would know and relate to a grandfather, as your bother, my grandfather Willard, passed when I was very young. You were that pillar of pride, and Last of the Mohicans as it were for our tribe of Lovells.
I'll always remember too those visits to your lovely home, on the hill, over the little wooden bridge. Your home, thanks to you and your loving wife Priscilla, was a welcoming retreat for your family. Time spent with you there, immersed in the history of the pictures, stories, memories and laughs, will serve as some of my fondest family memories.
Thank you for living and helping me to recreate the lives and times and accomplishments of my grandfather and my father's family. I know much of what there is to know about Essex and the Lovell family's mark on that beautiful town because of you. For that I will remain forever grateful. More so, I thank you for giving me another Lovell man to know and love and in a way to emulate.
Now it is for my father, Henry, your other great nephew Willard, myself, and my son Ryder, to carry on the name, as the Last of the line of men to carry the name for our line of Lovells. You have given us a dear example of the strong character and big heart it will take to do so honorably. Let it be said of us that we do so, and honor you and our line of Lovell men that preceded us.
Missing you dear Uncle Bud.
