25 Things about Grandpa:
1. Your eyes. A bright blue sparkle accompanied by a smile. Sharp, smart and loving.
2. Your hands. Always moving, always creating and building. Sturdy yet comforting.
3. Your mind. An engineer. A thinker. Quick-witted and smart.
4. Your smile. Warm and bright. Always followed by a chuckle:)
5. Grandma. Always beside you. Your best friend.
6. Your Grandfather clock. A true landmark in your house. The birds never losing their novelty to me!

8. Captain. A little hot-dog dog. A true best friend.
9. Your birds. An endless supply of food. Beautiful creatures fluttering by with flashes of color.
10. Your ham-radio. I was in awe of your knowledge and time spent with my brother in the upstairs office!
11. Your basement. Your model shop. Filled with projects and model boats. Your great-grandchildren adoring your hobbies and their custom made boats.
12. Crab fishing. Sitting on the dock with you - with the wind and the choppy water.
13. A teacher. In every facet of your life. Patience.
14. The ocean. Sailing, fishing, exploring.
15. Bumper sticker. Always a small marking of your Canadian heritage.
16. War. The brave and distant past. The ultimate honor of serving your country.
17. Your scottish hat. A trademark.
18. Uncle Peter. A rock and a kind presence always.
19. Your Humor. Always!
20. Friends. Adored and admired by so many.
21. Christmas cards... with a $20 bill:) A tradition that you passed on to your great-grandchildren. Always placed in our Christmas tree.
22. Summer. Some spent with you and Grandma on your sailboat. Peaceful.
23. Your postcards. Each time we wrote we included a chess move. Commitment.
24. Your great-grandchildren. Bonds equally as strong as ours, built in a shorter period of time.
25. The unwavering words you always said as I was leaving - "Come and visit us again soon!"

Dear Friends, Oliver and I thank you sincerely for sharing your Dad with us over the past few years. We are among the 'lucky' to have known this very REAL 'gentleman'! They don't 'make em' like that too much any more! Great smile,
great eyes, great sincerity and obvious great love for all his children! May we all take a page from his book!!!

Geoff was one of my favorite people..While we both had common roots nearby in Canada, our real friendship involved sailing model sailboats here in the Essex area..A true competitor right up to the end..None of us will ever forget Geoff sailing last year living off a feeding tube and yet marching up and down the shore watching his boat in action
Geoff was a true gentleman !!!.. We will miss him.
