Obituary of Rose Ruggiero

Rose E. (O'Neill) Ruggiero, 82, of Madison, formerly of Essex died at Middlesex Hospital on March 21, 2013 surrounded by her family. Beloved wife of Bart Ruggiero for the past 60 years. Rose was born in Brooklyn, NY, daughter of the late John & Katherine (Bessler) O'Neill. Rose was a devoted and faithful parishioner of Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Essex, belonging to the Cenacle, Ladies Guild , Third Order of Mary and Birthright of Westbrook. Most of all she was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. In addition to her husband, Rose is survived by her children: Marianne Ruggiero of Topsfield, MA, Karen Ruggiero of Franklin, MA, Robert & and his wife Susan Ruggiero and Bart and his wife Kim all of Madison, her brother John O'Neill of Centereach, NY and her sister Kathleen Schmalz of Aquebogue, NY, as well as 12 adoring grandchildren. Rose was predeceased by a son, Len Ruggiero.Visiting Hours will be held at Robinson, Wright & Weymer Funeral Home, 34 Main St. Centerbrook on Sunday 2-4pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday at 10am at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, Essex. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Westbrook.
