Obituary of Adele T. Ackerman
Adele T. Ackerman, 61, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Thursday, March 21, 2013. She was the beloved wife of James J. Ackerman. Adele was born in Schwabisch Hall, Germany. Adele's main passion was spending time with her four grandchildren. "Oma" as she was called by the grandchildren, would drop everything to be with them. Adele's love of gardening was also a source of enjoyment for her. Most days, Adele could be found with her knitting needles making countless pairs of socks for anyone would like them. Besides her devoted husband, she is survived by her two daughters and spouses, Jessica and Richard L. Willis II of Westbrook and Jaime and Greg Cooley of East Haddam, and by her four grandchildren, Grace, David and Brooke Willis of Westbrook and Brycen Cooley of East Haddam. She is survived also by her siblings, Ann Scholz and Peter Tchoryk, both of Schwabisch Hall, Germany and other extended family members. She was predeceased by her parents, Rosa and Simon Tchoryk, sisters Dora Muller and Val T. (Crandall) Spencer. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 30, 2013 at 11:00AM at the First Baptist Church of Essex.
