Obituary of Clifford P. Mott

Clifford P. Mott, age 89, of Westbrook passed away on Sunday morning, April 28th at the Middlesex Hospital in Middletown. Cliff was the beloved husband of Ann (Austin) Mott. He had been a resident of Westbrook since 1968. He was born in Staten Island, New York, the son of Clinton Dewitt and Josephine (Prece) Mott. Cliff proudly served his country in the United States Army during World War II. He participated in the Invasion of Normandy on D-Day and received five battle stars for his participation in every major campaign throughout the European Theater. Cliff had a long career in sales and last worked for Apple Oil in West Haven retiring in August of 2012. He was a communicant at Saint Mark the Evangelist Church in Westbrook and Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Essex. Besides his wife Ann he leaves his son Clifford and his wife Arlene of Brooklyn, New York, his beloved granddaughters, Thalia and Violet, his sister-in-law, Vera Mott of Cary, North Carolina, and his many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by four siblings. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Saint Mark the Evangelist Church, 222 McVeagh Road in Westbrook on Saturday, May 4th at 11:30 AM. Full Military Honors will be rendered at the church following Mass. Private interment will be held in the Resurrection Cemetery in Westbrook.
