Obituary of Norma K. Yeager
Norma K.(Wilke) Yeager, 68 of Old Saybrook died on May 8, 2013 at CT Hospice in Branford. Beloved wife for the past 49 years to Edmund D. Yeager Sr. Norma was born in Queens, NY, daughter of the late Norman & Ruth (Lehr) Wilke and grew up in upstate New York. She graduated from Averill Park High School in 1963. She has lived in Old Saybrook for many years, working for the Old Saybrook Probate Court for 18 years, she was a member of the Republican Town Committee, the Junior Woman's Club, she was an avid gardener and had a 600 cook book collection. Norma was a devoted fan of the woman's UCONN Huskeys, but the joy of her life was her grandsons Jacob & Sam. In addition to her husband and grandsons Norma was the loving mother of Edmund D. Yeager Jr. & Laureen A.Sullivan and her husband Richard M. all of Old Saybrook. Her sisters Ruth G. Cross of East Greenbush, NY, Diane S. Bielawa of Clinton and several nieces and nephews. At Norma's request her services and burial will be private. A reception and celebration will be held at Fireman's Field in Old Saybrook on Monday , May 13th at 11am. Donations may be made in Norma's name to either the Terri Brodeur Breast Cancer Foundation, Box 785, New London, CT 06320 or to CT Hospice, 100 Double Beach Rd., Branford, CT 06405.
