Obituary of Marvel Satteree Allison Gill

Gill, Marvel Satterlee Allison – Formerly of Scituate, MA, passed away unexpectedly at her home in Essex, CT on May 16, 2013 at the age of 81. The daughter of Robert Ashcroft Allison and G. Victoria Britton, she was born in Baltimore, MD in 1932. Wed to Richard Charles Gill in 1955, they were married for 49 years and lived for most of that time in their beloved Scituate. Marvel's life was entirely invested in the care and nurturing of children, a task for which she was innately qualified by skill & temperament. Beloved, gracious, giving & wise, her loss is mourned by family, friends & caregivers. Pre-deceased by her husband, Marvel leaves behind 4 children and 2 grandchildren: son Richard Paul Gill, wife Patricia and daughters Allison & Natalie of Essex, CT; daughter Jennifer Marvel Gill also of Essex, CT; daughter Stephanie Elizabeth Gill-Manville and husband Timothy of Lisbon, CT; and daughter Meredith Manson Gill Frenette and husband Robert of Andover, CT. A memorial service will be conducted at 1:30 pm, June 6th at St. John's Episcopal Church, 23 Main St., Essex, CT.
