Obituary of Margaret Kathleen Daly

Margaret Kathleen Daly, 96 of Westbrook, the beloved wife of the late William H. Daly, Sr. passed away June 11, 2013 at Apple Rehabilitation in Old Saybrook. She was born May 25, 1917 in Dublin, Ireland, the daughter of the late Richard and Kathleen (Bardsley) Alcock. Margaret immigrated to this country in 1926, and grew up in the Norwood section of the Bronx. Margaret was a graduate of the St. John's Hospital School of Nursing in Long Island City, NY. She had been a resident of Westbrook since 1943. Margaret is survived by her sons, James J. Daly and his wife Sharon of Haddam, William H. Daly, Jr. and his wife Darlene of Westbrook, and Richard C. Daly and his wife Bonnie of Canton. She leaves her grandchildren, Sean Daly of Westbrook, Kevin and Christopher Daly of Newport Beach, CA, Susan D. Hoffman and her husband Brent of West Simsbury, Thomas J. Daly and his wife Tracy of West Hartford, Christopher R. Daly and his wife Katie of Hingham, MA. and her ten great-grandchildren. She also is survived by her sister, Patricia Polak of Brick, NJ. The family wishes to express their gratitude to the caring staff at Apple Rehab. At Margaret's request there will be no visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Saint Mark the Evangelist Church, 222 McVeagh Road in Westbrook on Saturday, June 15, 2013 at 10:00AM. Interment will follow in Saint Mary's Cemetery in Clinton.
