Obituary of Arthur Clinton

Arthur F. Clinton, 94, of Old Saybrook (formerly of Rocky Hill) sailed off into the sunset on June 28, 2013. He was the loving husband of the late June (Shackette) Clinton who passed away in 2002. Art was born in Hartford on August 27, 1918, son of the late Joseph & Nellie (Treat) Clinton. Prior to his retirement Art worked as a construction superintendent for AF Pealee Builders and Charles Jewett Corp. He supervised the construction of many Connecticut schools and churches. Art loved to sail, building model ship hulls, playing setback, pool, bowling and was a member of the CT River Kegler Bowling Club. He was an avid fan of the Boston Redsox and UCONN Women's basketball teams. Art is survived by his son Jeffrey and his wife Renee Clinton of Old Saybrook, his daughter Marsha and her husband Glenn Brielmann of Haddam, seven grandchildren; Nicholas & Tyler Clinton, Marci Marciniec, Amanda & Shonna Lisitano, Elizabeth & Alexandra Brielmann, seven great grandchildren, his sister Sally Clinton of Colchester, best friend Louis Fabri of Old Saybrook and his faithful dog Lulu. Visiting hours will be held at the Robinson, Wright & Weymer Funeral Home, 34 Main St. Centerbrook on Tuesday from 9-10am. Art's funeral service will follow at the funeral home.
