Obituary of Phyllis A. Eldridge

Phyllis A. Eldridge, age 100, passed away Sunday evening July 21st at Chesterfields Health Care Center in Chester. Phyllis was born in Deep River on September 18, 1912 the daughter of the late Francis C. and Ruth C. (Lamb) Arnold. Raised in Deep River she attended local schools and was a graduate of the Hartford School of Nursing. Phyllis married Elliot Eldridge in 1935 and he predeceased her in 1992. Elliot and Phyllis had resided in Chatham, Massachusetts and returned in 1961 to live in Essex. Phyllis was an avid card player and cat lover. She leaves her sister, Pamelia Adanti of Deep River, several nieces and nephews and her beloved kitty Missy. Besides her husband Elliot and her parents she was predeceased by her brother, Alfred C. "Cornie" Arnold and her brother in law, John L. Adanti, Sr. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, July 25th at 11:00AM at the Fountain Hill Cemetery, High Street in Deep River.
