Obituary of Lauren Laterra

Lauren "Laurie" Laterra, age 56, of Old Saybrook passed away unexpectedly at the Shoreline Medical Center in Essex on Tuesday, July 23rd after being stricken in Old Saybrook. Laurie was the beloved wife of John L. "Jack" Laterra. She was born July 13, 1957 in New London the daughter of the late John and Ruth (Cook) Castanza. Laurie was raised in Essex and was a graduate of Valley Regional High School in Deep River. She had resided in Old Saybrook for the past 15 years and was formerly of Essex. Laurie was a very artistic and creative woman who loved to paint and create jewelry. She was a loving wife and niece who will be greatly missed by many. Besides her husband Jack, she leaves her aunt, Virginia C. Cook, of Essex, her uncle and his wife, Roland V. and Phyllis Cook, of Placerville, CA, numerous cousins and her beloved and devoted dogs, Athena and Buggles. Visitation will be held at the Robinson, Wright & Weymer Funeral Home, 34 Main Street in Centerbrook on Friday, July 26th from 4:00PM to 7:00PM. Laurie's funeral service and interment in the Resurrection Cemetery in Westbrook will be privately held by her family.
