Obituary of Geneva Tucker Pope

Geneva (Tucker) Pope, age 97, of Centerbrook, entered into peaceful rest on August 3, 2013 at the Aaron Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Chester. She was the widow of John W. Pope. She was born on March 15, 1916 in Quincy, Massachusetts the daughter of the late Stiles and Lillian (Hunt) Tucker. She had been a resident of Centerbrook since 1942 having formerly lived in Oxford where she worked for the U.S. Rubber Company. Geneva was an avid reader and bridge player. She also was an accomplished seamstress who made many of her own clothes. Besides her husband she was predeceased by her son, David and siblings Burton, Richard and Arthur Tucker. She leaves her daughter-in-law, Cynthia Pope, of Granby, a sister-in-law, Maria Tucker, of Seymour, and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held on Friday, August 9, 2013 at 11:30AM, at Saint Peters Cemetery, Governors Hill Road in Oxford.
