Obituary of Nellie H. Danks

Nellie H. Danks, 88 of Plantsville, formerly a longtime resident of Essex, died on Tuesday, October 8, 2013 at The Summit of Plantsville. Nellie was born in Essex, daughter of the late Kenneth & Bessie (Walker) Hayden. Nellie worked for many years as a bookkeeper for several local business's such as Saybrook Oil, Bella's Service Station and Doane's Pharmacy. She was an avid patron of the Griswold Inn and had deep roots in the Essex community. Nellie is survived by her son Gary H. Danks of Southington, four grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her daughter Doria McCarthy and brother Kenneth Hayden Jr. Graveside services will be held at Centerbrook Cemetery on Friday, October 11th at 11am.
