Obituary of Sally O'Neill

Santina "Sally" (Calamari) O'Neill, 93, a lifelong Chester resident died on November 26, 2013 at Chesterfield's Healthcare Center in Chester. Beloved wife of the late Thomas J. O'Neill who passed away in 1987. Sally was the daughter of the late John and Julia (Cervani) Calamari. She graduated from Chester High School in 1938 and attended the Morse School of Business in Hartford. Sally worked for many years as a secretary for the Visiting Nurses of the Lower Valley, was a lifelong member of St. Joseph's Parish where she belonged to the St Ann's Guild. Sally was very active in the Chester Alumni Assoc. and volunteered for many years with Meals On Wheels. Sally is survived by her children; Dr. Brian O'Neill and his wife Cynthia of Haddam, Nancy O'Neill Mcgee and her husband Bob of Deep River, her sister Kitty Fuller of Chester, grandchildren; Sharon and Daniel O'Neill and Thomas and Mary Mcgee as well as many nieces and nephews. Sally was predeceased by her brothers; Andrew, Joseph and Augustine Calamari and a sister Mary Tracy. Sally's family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the staff at Chesterfield's for the loving care that their mother received for the past 14 years. Visitation will be held at Robinson, Wright & Weymer Funeral Home, 34 Main St. Centerbrook on Saturday from 9-10:30am. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11am at St Joseph's Church, Chester. Interment will follow in the Fountain Hill Cemetery in Deep River.
