Obituary of Betty Schmidt

Betty (Marple) Schmidt, 92, mother, grandmother and great grandmother died Sunday, November 24, 2013. Born in Philadelphia, she lived most her life in Hamilton Township, NJ. While at Cedar Crest College she met Darwin, her life's love and partner. They celebrated 68 years of marriage before his death in 2011. Vigorously curious, she was a prolific reader, knitter and organizer. A woman of great will power, she is survived by her brother, George Marple, her children Barbara Macgregor and her husband Alan, Paul Schmidt and his wife Debby, her grand girls Lyn and her husband Ted Halsted, Nancy and her husband Dennis Lange and Courtney. She always described great granddaughters Caroline and Jillian Halsted as "extraordinary"! A memorial service will be held on December 14th at the First Congregational Church, 6 Methodist Hill Road, Essex at 1pm. Arrangements by Robinson, Wright & Weymer Funeral Home, Centerbrook.
