One of the best times Cork and I had together was the “Pumpkin Pie Event”. We decided it would be a great idea to make pumpkin pie from scratch, so we bought several pumpkins and went to work. We made 15 pies that day, and threw 15 pies in the trash! Each one tasted worse than the previous one! It was a long time before I could even look at a pumpkin pie again....

Someone recently told me that when thinking about a person you know, you don't remember what they said to you. You remember how they made you feel. Over the many years that I knew Corky, she always greeted me with kindness and sincerity. She made me feel welcome. Thank you, Corky.

Corky will be forever missed but will live in the hearts of all who had the honor of knowing her. I will always remember her extreme passion for her family and friends. The Kennedy Essex home was a favorite gathering place for so many. Corky's contagious laugh was always heard throughout their Essex home. I will cherish as well as my sister's will (Sharon and Pam) Corky's empathy for others as well as her extreme intellect. She was an adoring wife to Joe and so very proud of both her sons. We were all so blessed to have Corky in our lives.

Dear Corky,
I can't believe you are not here! It was just yesterday that we played in the sand at Higgins, building sand castles that the waves erased. Just yesterday (1970) your Mom got us tickets for Hair in NYC.
I ring the Lakeside dining hall bell for you, as we did as kids.
We'll all meet at the Higgins Lake in the sky one day and it will be an outrageous shindig, as always.

Corky was a truly wonderful person. From the first day that we met when she became a Starter at the Fenwick golf course, I was impressed by her upbeat attitude and sincerity. Just talking with her made you feel good. I am saddened by her loss and extend my sincerest condolences to her family. Somewhere, someplace, Corky is smiling ...... that’s the way that I will always remember her.
