Obituary of Tom Weaver
Tom Weaver, 68, said a loving goodbye to his family on October 20th. Tom was most recently head coach at Westbrook High School Track. His influence on the young people he coached was profound for he was a coach for the person not the sport. A decorated Vietnam veteran, serving in the Mobile Riverine Force, he was an active member of the American Legion, VFW and Essex Veteran’s Memorial Hall. Tom retired after 13 years with Pratt and Whitney as an engineer, was maintenance supervisor at Old Saybrook Healthcare for 17 years and volunteered as an EMT with the Old Saybrook Ambulance Association for 36 years. Tom is survived by sons Jeffrey and wife Karen Weaver of Nixa, MO and Stephen and wife Becky Weaver of Wethersfield, daughter Hilary Weaver and fiancé Christopher Lee of Chester, life partner, Barbara Segen Gould of Deep River, sister Bonnie Von Deck of Bristol, TN, grandchildren, Avery, Seth, and Neilan Weaver, Jaden Carroll, Jada Eden, and Austin and Alexis Weaver, his uncle Frederick Rand of Old Lyme, his uncle and aunt Mario and Dolores Alborghetti of Old Saybrook and many cousins. Tom’s life will be celebrated at American Legion Post 113 in Old Saybrook Saturday, October 27, 2018, 12:00 to 4:00 PM.
