I was saddened to learn of Margaret's passing but enjoyed reading the wonderful tributes to the life that she led and how much she meant to so many people. We worked together at the Greater Hartford Chamber for a number of years along with a great group of coworkers especially Judy, Joe Ierna, Bob Sadler, Peter Dunn, Peter Wade and of course Herb Hansen. Our time together was a lot of fun, she made me smile every morning that I walked into the office and I will always have special memories of those years.

My sincere condolences for your loss. While I didn't get the opportunity to meet Margaret, Chris speaks of her lovingly. My thoughts are with you all during this difficult time.

Since this news I have been flooded with memories of my time with Margaret - going to Old Lyme, having lunch at Brown Thompson's, going to Pancho McGee's, playing tennis on Goat Island in Newport and unintentionally launching balls into the bay...but mostly I remember how happy she was to marry Steve and how blessed she felt when Christopher was born and how she took such pride in his accomplishments and those of her dearly loved nieces and nephews. Margaret gave sage guidance, introducing me to naturopathy, the concept that God only gives us what we can handle and how devotion to family is how to live a life in faith. She brought so much joy and will be so missed and I consider myself so lucky to have been her friend for almost 40 years. May she rest in everlasting peace.

I am so sorry to hear of Margaret's passing. Like Colleen Assal, I met Margaret and Steve at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Greensboro, NC. Margaret joined the Prayer Shawl Ministry of which I am a member. Margaret had a concern for the sick and expressed her concern and love for them in this ministry. After Margaret and Steve moved back to Connecticut, we kept in touch via e-mail. When Steve would come back to Greensboro on business, my neighbor, Dorothy and I would sit next to Steve at Mass on Sunday and Steve would tell us how Margaret was getting along. I have prayed for Margaret's healing and now I shall pray for the repose of her beautiful soul. Carolyn Kingman

My heart goes out to Steve and Christopher on the loss of this incredibly beautiful human being-both inside and out! I had the great privilege of meeting Margaret at St Paul the Apostle Church in Greensboro, NC right after she and Steve moved here. Margaret jumped right in volunteering and we became fast friends. Her long and courageous battle with cancer broke my heart but she was such a tremendous inspiration and example of great faith! I’m glad we stayed in touch and will miss staying connected through email and cards. Heaven has welcomed a very special angel! Rest In Peace my friend!

I got to know Margaret in the yoga class I teach at the Smilow Care Center in Old Saybrook. She was one of the loveliest people I ever met. Her courage, grace and gentle spirit will be remembered. My deepest condolences to her family and friends.
