Obituary of Margaret Mary Snyder
Margaret Mary (Reynolds) Snyder, 60, of Essex, beloved wife of Steven Snyder, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 11, 2020. She was born on January 19, 1960, in Hartford, the daughter of Vann and Barbara (Skowronek) Reynolds. Margaret graduated from Bacon Academy in Colchester in 1978 and attended Manchester Community College, studying Early Childhood Education. She worked for several years as Secretary to the President of the Greater Hartford Chamber of Commerce. Her most cherished days were spent as wife and mother to Steve and Christopher. She greatly enjoyed living on the Connecticut shoreline, volunteering, playing the piano, photography, and spending time with family and friends. She was a communicant at Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Essex. Besides her husband, Margaret leaves her loving son Christopher of Somerville, MA, brothers, Mike Reynolds (Gail) of Kensington, and Andy Van Ness of VT, a sister, Vanessa Reynolds of Colchester and her special sisters-in-law, Linda Mattice of Branford, and Deborah Van Ness of Worcester, VT. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brother William Reynolds. She also leaves her nieces and nephews, Kristin Van Ness and Eric Bergenn (Lauren) both of West Hartford, and Anna and Colin Van Ness of Worcester, VT, her great nieces, Shaye and Giuliana of West Hartford as well as her aunts, uncles, several cousins, many dear friends in CT, NC and GA, and her dear mother-in-law Eleanor Snyder in Mabank, TX. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Margaret’s name may be made to: Proverbs 31 Ministries, Matthews, NC, or any hunger relief program. There will be no visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, 14 Prospect Street in Essex on Saturday, February 15, 2020 at 10:30 AM. Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery, North Main Street in Essex overlooking the beautiful Connecticut River.
