American Legion Post 61 IBELL-JACOBSON-SMITH send our condolences to the Family of Mr. Thomas Haechel. We were sorry to learn of his recent passing. He served honorably in the US Navy as a Quartermaster 2nd Class. His service to our nation was appreciated. While he may have grown up in New Haven, he seemed to love Killingworth. He probably loved his time in Florida too. However, we in Deep River were happy to claim him as a member of our our Deep River American Legion Post 61. We are so sorry for your loss.
With sincere sympathy,
Eileen B. Richard, Commander
American Legion Post 61

RIP Tommy. You took us all in as your extended sons and brother hood. I first met Tom through my boys Kukta and Shawy playing Killingworth softball and got recruited to play with auidi & sons team. Every since then Tommy took us in and showed his love for us every time he saw us and made sure to ask how we were and made sure we were good. You are the best. Breaks my heart to see this news. Prayers to all your family.
