I was saddened to learn of my Uncle Bill's passing a couple of days after he departed us. He and I had only recently reconnected, and we had an enjoyable phone conversation during which we caught up on so much, that I had hoped future conversations would become a regular occurrence. Alas, such was not to be. I am really happy that we got to speak again. It was lovely.
What time, family moves, distance, and loss of contact took away for a time, felt restored.
Aunt Ruth, Leigh Ann, and Warren, I know this is a hard time. Take care of yourselves. I hope that past your grief, soon a tear of remembrance will turn to a smile. That day will come in its own time, but come it will.
He was a good man who led an undeniably full and interesting life. If, as many believe, there is reunion after this life, I'm sure Bill and my Dad are side by side once again.
