Obituary of Carol Ann Siter

Carol Ann Siter, a lifelong resident of East Haddam, CT passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her family on June 9, 2021. Best known to family and friends as “Meme” Carol is survived by her husband, Gerald Siter; her children, John Cromeenes and wife Betty; Cynthia Barber Fitzgerald and husband Kevin; Robert Cromeenes and wife Barbara; Laurie Knape and husband David; stepchildren Glenn Siter and wife Dorene, Gregg Siter and wife Kathleen and Sharon Siter; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; nieces and nephews and sister-in-law, Edna Shaw. Carol was born in Longmeadow, MA on June 5, 1940, to Eugene and Josephine Shaw Sr. She was predeceased by several brothers and sisters and son in law, Frank Barber. Carol was employed at Sibley Co. in Haddam CT where she held several positions and retired in February 2020 as the company’s Materials Manager. Carol held several past high-level positions in a variety of organizations, Purchasing Association of CT; President of the American Legion Women’s Auxiliary Post 156; Tax Collector for the Moodus Lake Shores Association, where she resided for many years. Carol was a devout parishioner of Trinity Lutheran Church in Centerbrook, CT. She held several positions to enhance her faith, church choir member, church secretary and lead for the altar guild. In lieu of flowers, Carol’s wish was for friends to make memorial contributions to the Trinity Lutheran Church (109 Main Street, Centerbrook, CT) in her name. The family would like to express our thanks for the wonderful and loving care given by her doctor, Mark Metersky and the Middlesex Hospice Home Care team, specifically MaCyn Parady and Angie Paholski. Calling hours will be from 4-6pm on Monday, June 14 at the Robinson, Wright and Weymer Funeral Home located at 34 Main St, Centerbrook. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 15, 10am, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 109 Main Street, Centerbrook, CT with Pastor Brett Hertzog Betkoski, officiating. Burial will follow in the State Veterans Cemetery, 317 Bow Lane, Middletown, CT. Following the burial, all are invited to a celebration of Carol’s life at the American Legion Hall, at 35 Neptune Ave, Moodus, CT. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Carol’s name may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, P.O. Box 112, Centerbrook, CT 06409.
